Heidi Deininger

Meet our Executive Director

Heidi’s 30 plus years of nonprofit management experience include 2 years with the YWCA, 25 years with the YMCA and 5 years with the Girl Scouts. Her first nonprofit role in Wisconsin was with the YMCA of North Rock County prior to taking on Executive roles with the YMCA in Madison & Chicago, and COO positions for large non-profits like the Girl Scouts of Southeast Wisconsin and the Goodman Community Center.

In 2003, she was part of a leadership team made up of staff and community partners in Dane County that led the Activate America Initiative for the YMCA of Dane County, a partnership with UW Youth Pediatrics and Madison School District promoting Health and Wellness in the Community to 450 youth participants. Also passionate about leadership development and DEI programing, she was a National Trainer for the YMCA of the USA for 25 years and received certification in Organizational Leadership, Multicultural Executive Development, and other Executive Development Courses. She led DEI and Leadership Development Initiatives for the YMCA of Metro Chicago, and the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast in collaboration with the Milwaukee Public Schools in regard to Urban and Latina Programs that focused on STEM, Leadership, and Camping.

Other business roles in her career include Executive Team Management for Target, owner of a Health and Wellness Company, and several career years in Hospitality Services in Honolulu, Hawaii. She believes non-profits can make a difference when working together...the power of collaborative partnerships, collective impact. Heidi has her BA in both Organizational Communication and Exercise Physiology from the University of Hawaii, Manoa.

  • Caritina Mayer

    FINANCE DIRECTOR

    With an overall experience of 25 years in the non-profit world, Caritina Mayer has served as YWCA Rock County Finance Director since 2015. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Public Accounting with a specialization in taxes from the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Laguna (Mexico). Caritina enjoys using her financial knowledge and skills to foster positive change, and improve lives in our community. Born and raised in Mexico, she now resides in the Rockford-Rockton Illinois area, where she has worked and volunteered at her Church, and several other non-profits and community organizations through the years. Caritina spends her free time on adventures with her husband, daughters and in-laws while traveling to visit parks, museums, historical sites, and antique shopping.

  • Jessi Campbell

    DIRECTOR OF CRISIS & EMPOWERMENT SERVICES

    Jessi Campbell is the Director of Crisis & Empowerment Services at YWCA Rock County. She has worked at the YWCA since 2010 & has lived in Rock County for 30 years. Jessi holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. As a survivor Jessi is committed to providing trauma-informed services to adults & youth affected by family violence. She loves to learn from others as well as educate others, she often says "if you're not learning new things - you're not growing".  In her spare time, Jessi enjoys the company of her husband, adult children & grandchildren, photography & reading.

  • Amiee Leavy

    RACIAL JUSTICE DIRECTOR

    Amiee Leavy, YWCA Rock County Racial Justice Director, has years of experience engaging to advance racial and social justice issues and working with underserved communities. Amiee has been employed in the corporate sector as well as secondary and post-secondary education and now resides in the non-profit arena. Mrs. Leavy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Alcorn State University, an MBA from The Ohio State University and three teaching licenses. Amiee brings a wealth of experience and the ability to write curriculum and facilitate racial justice workshops and trainings.

  • Kari Dray

    DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & CORPORATE GIVING

    Kari Dray is the Director of Marketing & Corporate Giving for YWCA Rock County. She has been with the organization since March of 2021. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with an Emphasis in Advertising and a Marketing Minor. She worked in Radio for almost seven sears before discovering her love for non-profits. Her work as the PR & Marketing Manager at Independent Disability Services and then the Director of Marketing and Operations at the Janesville Performing Arts Center led her path to YWCA Rock County. She is originally from Beloit and now resides in Janesville with her Husband and Daughter. In her spare time, Kari enjoys hiking, traveling, spending time with her family and thrift store shopping.

  • Brittany de la O

    DIRECTOR OF DONOR ENGAGEMENT & GRANTS

    Brittany de la O is the Director of Donor Engagement and Grants at YWCA Rock County. She brings experience from her previous roles at SSM Health at Home Foundation, and holds a Bachelor Degree in International Relations and Public Diplomacy with a minor is Spanish. Brittany serves on Forward Janesville’s Government Relations Council along with the City of Janesville’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. She lives in the Town of Harmony with her husband Jimmy and two children, Gracelyn and Vincent. In her spare time, Brittany and her family enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, adventuring and visiting museums.

  • Angela Thompson

    CHILD CARE PROGRAM DIRECTOR

    Angie Thompson is the Child Care Program Director. She has worked at the YWCA Rock County since October of 2022. She earned over 60 college credits, equivalent to an associate's degree, including 24 in Early Childhood Education, 6 in Administration and 30 in other disciplines. Her education and 32 years of experience are in Early Childhood Education field where she worked in the classroom with ages birth- 12 years of age for over 20 years and then was promoted to Administration. She was born and raised in Wisconsin, then moved to Illinois for 30 years and is now back in Wisconsin, where she’s always called home. She has two daughters, ages 21 and 23; that she is extremely proud of and their accomplishments so far. In her free time, she enjoys reading and organizing. She loves the warmth of the summer and loves to go boating.

  • Ginna Isunza

    COMMUNITY IMMIGRANT & REFUGEE BILINGUAL PROGRAM SPECIALIST

    Ginna Isunza has been part of the YWCA Rock County since 2016, as the Immigrant Outreach director and now Community Immigrant & Refugee Bilingual Program Specialist. Ginna holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a paralegal degree.

    Ginna collaborates closely with law enforcement, local schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to establish a support network for the immigrant families she serves. Her commitment to continuous improvement is evident through her participation in immigration training programs, ensuring she stays updated on best practices in immigration law and case management. Ginna's work not only supports immediate needs but also fosters sustainable growth and resilience within the immigrant community.
