NIAH HOLMES - 2025 Young Woman
Niah is a very mature, reliable, kind, calm, and insightful young woman.
Niah has attended school in Janesville for most of her academic career. She attended Wilson Elementary, Franklin Middle School, ARISE Virtual Academy, and Janesville Craig High School. Niah is one of five children and currently lives with her twin brothers and mother in Janesville.
During Niah’s time in high school she has been involved in a variety of school and extracurricular activities. She was a member of SIS (Sisters Inspiring Sisters), Link Crew, and FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America). Niah was also a charter member of the Craig High School Girls Wrestling Team, paving the way for other females in a predominantly male sport.
This past January Niah spoke in front of the entire student body during our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Assembly. She shared her inspiring story of resilience through personal challenges with racism, homelessness, and the loss of her father. Despite her incredible personal challenges, Niah has maintained a GPA of 3.2 and has set herself up to graduate from high school an entire year early this June.
Some of Niah’s hobbies include drawing, painting, baking, reading fantasy books, and spending time with family.
Niah’s future plans include attending Blackhawk Technical College and majoring in Culinary Arts or a science-related field. In the future she also has a personal goal to visit all 50 states.
