PATRICIA MAJEED
Patricia Majeed is a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who has dedicated 54 years to her profession and community.
A barber by trade, Patricia has also been a leader in the Beloit City Wide Youth Softball program, serving 300-400 young athletes annually. For 37 years, she has worked at Clippers and Curls alongside Loyd and Mary Sandlin, starting as a receptionist before earning her barbering degree from MATC-Madison.
Throughout her career, Patricia discovered that her role extended far beyond cutting hair. As clients confided in her, she became not only a barber but also a counselor and advocate. Her lifelong mission has been to support her family and be an asset to her community.
Volunteerism has played a significant role in Patricia’s life. She has served with numerous organizations, including: Merrill and Townview Schools (P.T.O. & P.T.A.), Beloit Memorial High School Booster Club, Merrill Revitalization Committee, School District of Beloit Equality Committee, NAACP Criminal Justice Committee and Diamond Elite Cheerleading. She is also the proud recipient of the Legacy Award from Rock County Jump Start. Her dedication has been recognized with numerous honors, including the NAACP Youth Appreciation Award, the Beloit Daily News Bill Behling Volunteer of the Month Award and Employee of the Year at Dillon Inn.
Patricia believes in working with all people to create meaningful change. Being named one of YWCA Rock County’s 2025 Women of Distinction is a humbling honor that reaffirms her commitment to service. She firmly believes that volunteerism is a job everyone can do and that those who have more are required to give more.
